I usually get up at quarter to seven.

Then I have a shower.

I go home at quarter past five.

I usually have dinner at 9 o'clock or at half past 9.

I go to bed at about half past ten or at eleven o'clock.

ANIMALS AND THEIR SENSES

In the English class we've been talking about animals and their most important sense.

We've learnt that:

- Pigs' most important sense is the taste. They have got over 15.000 taste buds.

- Eagles' most important sense is the eyesight. They can see a small mouse in the grass from high up in the sky.

- Leopards' most important sense is the touch. They've got sensitive whiskers. Thay can touch things in the dark and feel where they are going.

- Wolves' most important sense is the smell. They've got a very sensitive nose and can smell friends, enemies and food.

- Doplhins have got very sensitive ears. Hearing is their most important sense. They can hear very well and communicate with other dolphins.

Go to:
http://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/amaze.html

You'll find many other animals and a brief explanation of their most important sense.

Then post a comment about one of the animals. Look at the sample I posted.
Enjoy! :-)

IT'S ALL ABOUT DOGGIES

In class we've been talking about dogs.
I love animals and I love dogs.
My parents have got two dogs: Nuska and Nala.
Nuska is the big, brown dog. She's got big ears, a long tail, long legs and straight hair.
Nala is the small, white dog. She's got curly hair, big ears and short legs.
Do you like them?

Nuska & Nala, my dogs.

This is an English Cocker. He's got big ears but short legs and a short tail. He's brown and he's got curly hair. He's cute but naughty!

This is a Siberian Husky. He's got small ears and blue eyes. He's got straight black and white hair. He likes cold weather!

This is a poodle. He's got long legs and big ears. He's got curly black hair and a long tail. I don't like these dogs. Do you like poodles?

1. Do you like Siberian Huskies? Do you like English cockers? Do you like big poodles?
2. What other types of dogs do you like?
3. I prefer dogs to cats. What do you prefer: dogs or cats?
4. Have you got dogs at home?
5. Can you describe YOUR dog?

TARZAN'S PLAY

On Wednesday 13th January'10 we went to La Sedeta to see the theatre play TARZAN by IPA productions.

We had a lot of fun:

- Clara acted together with Jane and Clayton.

- Paolo turned into an elephant and helped Tarzan with his personal hygiene.

- Lluís, our 6th grade teacher, mimed some animals for the play competition...

And such pupils as Valentina, Elena or Jesús asked questions in English to the actors at the end of the play.

My favourite character is Tarzan because he's brave and good with animals.

What's your favourite character? Vote in the poll.

Can you remember...?:

1. Where's Jane from?
2. Where's Clayton from?
3. What's Jane's favourite animal?
4. What's Jane's favourite food?
5. What's YOUR favourite animal and food?

CHRISTMAS' MEMORIES

This was our Christmas tree and our 4th graders' Christmas cards for Father Christmas (also known as Santa).

At Christmas we eat a lot of delicious and tasty food.

On Christmas Day I had soup and cannelloni for lunch.

How about you?

Soup is made of pasta, so it contains carbohydrates.

Cannelloni are made of pasta and meat, so they contain carbohydrates, proteins and fats.

What nutrients does the food you ate on Christmas day contain?

How about your Christmas presents? What's your favourite Christmas present?

JUSTIN BIEBER - BABY

Our 4th B graders asked me to practice this song in class. How about some home practice in the meanwhile?
